Extremely beautiful, rare, triptych of tapestries featuring scenes from the Biblical Arc of Noah story by important artist Helen Webber. It is one of a few triptych tapestry works which she created. Her works are exhibited in museums in the United States and internationally.
Helen Webber began her career in the 1970’s, creating artworks for public spaces throughout the United States and abroad. The tapestries utilize a collage technique combining an array of designer upholstery fabrics such as velvets, brocades, worsteds, jacquards, mohair, hand woven woolens, among many others. Yarns of all kinds are integrated into the tapestries surrounding the edges of each fabric piece. This fabric construction technique is unique to Helen Webber.
Helen Webber used this technique to create dramatic large scale works which range from 6 feet to 65 feet. Some examples of these large scale tapestries are two double sided sixty-five foot long tapestries created for a cruise ship, and, four, 18 foot long, tapestries hanging in a civic center in California. The artist is recently deceased.
