Ann Thornycroft was born in 1944 in England.

She is a working artist in Los Angeles who is best known for her large-scale, grid-based composition. Explaining her use of this structure, the artist says, “The grid symbolized nature and man. It is a very simple device but it continues to capture my interest.”

Her paintings have been extensively exhibited throughout the United States.
