  • Serpentines Lament artwork by Andrew Killick - art listed for sale on Artplode

About Artist:

Andrew produces  close, nuanced studies of leaves in acrylic.  His studio is located on the Welsh border near the Royal Forest of Dean, permitting him stunning access to the beauty of nature's bright, seasonal colours.

Andrew's compositions appear as washes of dark but vibrant colour that slowly reveal the natural forms hidden among them.  His use of pigment is dense, and his leaves oscillate between movement and life, and stillness and decay.

Many of his works appear to be part of a larger series, but each individual piece produced shares a commonality and is individual in it's own right.

About Artwork:

Inspired by the Japanese practice of momijigari, or the observation of the changing colours of Autumn.

My artwork is produced in a continuous and flowing wash of colours, adding texture and emphasing the natural curvatures of the leaves.
