About Artist:

Carolyn Marshall began acrylic painting in 2019 with bright, vibrant hues for the purpose of creating happiness for those viewing her works.  She experimented with acrylic pours, excited by the science and the blend of control and unknown as the paint blended, mixed by gravity and dried.  Carolyn has completed over 15 acrylic paintings and Hope is the first up for sale.

About Artwork:

The size of the canvas and the quantity of paint needed to completely flood the canvas (over 12 cups of paint) created a need for a lot of time and attention as the weight of the paint caused much unintentional paint run-off and change to the overall plan of the work.  The overall result of gravity and silicone mixed with quality colored acrylics was thrilling and spectacular after much fretting and tilting of the canvas.

What do you see?  The artist sees a sunset behind crashing waves and sparkling sand.  But the direction Hope is hung really can change what you might see.  As Hope is abstract, it is signed on the lower right side of the painting of the orientation the artist might hang it, and Carolyn also signed Hope on the back for those who might want to frame it.

The embellishing glass really catches light and adds a glamorous bling effect.

Carolyn named the painting Hope because of the tremendous challenge the paint pooling and run-off created, and as she felt a loss of control of her vision, she remained convinced in complete faith that she could be successful in creating a "wow" piece that she was pleased with.  She finds herself getting lost in this painting, staring at different parts of it, the way the colors combined, the way the light catches the glass.  Hope is a happy, inspiring conversation piece that lights up a room.

Paint colors used include: Gold, Titanium White, Orange Red mix, Yellow Orange mix, Orange Yellow mix, Aqua mix, Sap Green, and Phthalocyanine Green mixed with Cobalt Blue Hue.
