Incantations/ Forcefields of Enchantment
These spatial forms in relief present an attempt to render visible and palpable the drastic transformation of Space and Time following a magic spell.
Enchantment as a thematic starting point is not as frivolous as it might sound. Notwithstanding our extremely rationalistic epoch it is quite improbable that there is a psychically developed person who has never dreamt -even just for once- of suddenly and radically transforming his/ her reality in one way or another – make somebody fall in love; heal or kill someone; change him-/herself, or live in a different time and/or place.
In fact it will not be far fetched to say that such passionate “irrational” longings are a veritable sign of a healthy inner life and essential part of what make the humans Human.
Naturally such a radical transformation of reality cannot take place in the ordinary space and the fractured monotonous time of the everyday, it must create it’s own spectacular Space-Time following the unleashing of the conflicting and violent forces of the magic spell.
And this precisely is the object of this thematic circle.
