About Artist:
Florentis is a visual artist, currently living and working in the United Kingdom.
About Artwork:
In 2018 I had the chance and the privilege to attend the jam session of Lorena Hernandez del Mar and band on the stage of The Music Village in Brussels (a very popular live performance jazz club there).
It was first-rate music making and I was so smitten that I went the next day and the day after as well, attending all three nights of their appearance.
The above experience as a music lover and as an artist prompted me to think of ways how can I convey with pictorial and plastic means such an intangible event – the interacting musicians at the extended moment of creation and the saturated club atmosphere, otherwise an ordinary place by daylight.
It goes without saying that inspiration from a fellow high-calibre artist is both stimulating and very demanding as one inevitably gets involved in one-upmanship.
And here is the tentative result.
