About Artist:

Self taught. My experience in the artworld has been a learning experience from a young age.  People often say that everybody has a talent that needs to be unleashed.  I knew from a young age without any technology,  just a  scribble book and pencils that I loved to experiment with colour, shapes and form.  I know it was my mother's way of keeping me quiet with other sibblings, but little did she know it was like being an addict, I just had to create.

It was  much later in life that I had to rekindle my passion.  In 1987, I attended TAFE in a pottery course, and eventually set up my own studio.  I was a potter for thirteen years and sold many one off items.  I had a varied collection and later started an old tradition of majolica (painting on glaze).  I always knew that painting was what I always wanted to do eventually.

In 2002-3, I enrolled in yet another TAFE course in mixed media.  This was a great learning curve, as it helped me use and experiment with all types of medias.   My favourite media would be inks and pastels.  Oils  are also a passion as there is always one part of painting you favour.  I think because of the way the light and combination of texture and colour appears without you realising.   Now I am proud to say that many art lovers have bought my artworks to admire.  To an artist, the one thing that they love the most is to  have a timeless part of their life hanging for view.

About Artwork:

"City of Love" was inspired from my honeymoon 2015. Venice is surely a magical city. I paint from photos I have taken and if they inspire me I paint them. I also wanted to give a 3d effect to draw you into the painting.  I was working at the time while painting "City of Love", it took me many sittings and finally finished in late 2017.
