Joan Gordiano is an acclaimed New York based artist whose body of artwork comprises collage, graphite, paintings, constructions, lithographs, paintings and prints.
More than 100 international museum and gallery exhibitions have been held including Joan Gordiano?s artworks. Works of art by Joan Gordiano are held in numerous public and notable corporate and private art collections.
Joan Giordano has taught at the College of Staten Island, CUNY and LaGuardia College, CUNY and is co-founder of 'The Art Lab' (1979), Snug Harbor Cultural Center, NY where Joan serves as an Honorary Board Member.
About Artwork:
Taking inspiration from East Asian, specifically Japanese paper making and hand made paper, which the artist studied under a fellowship at the Fujimori factory in Japan. The image depicts lanterns blowing in the wind to commemorate each child of a family in Japan. Featuring a lithograph on kozo paper collaged to other Japanese handmade paper elements.
