About Artist:

Logan Hughes (b.1989) is a visual artist formally trained in painting and sculpture. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University in 2011. After continuing to pursue his studio practice for five years he decided to attend California College of the Arts to earn a Master of Fine Arts Degree in 2016. In 2018, he graduated with honors and has since relocated to continue making work in Brooklyn, New York.

About Artwork:

These paintings are visualizations of various levels of solitude and mental clarity brought on by natural landscapes. Employing heavy, almost three-dimensional layers of oil paint to express notions of daydreaming caused by natural environments, communicated through surrealist forms and hues.
