About Artist:
Barry Scharf is a master painter with a history of creating award-winning art and exhibition experience from the late 60’s to present. He has been painting for over 50 years with no end in sight. His career began in the late 60's at East Carolina University where he received a BFA and then went on to get a master of fine arts at Otis Art Institute in 1975. With over 22 public and one-man shows at museums and galleries. Most recently Barry had his work included at the International Exposure Awards 2015 held at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
He painted in Los Angeles and worked in his studio from 1975 to 1990. Barry found direction in a combination of abstract expressionism and representational whimsy, which has remained central to his work today.
Barry Scharf is an artist whose work is centered in expressing the spiritual within nature and life. He paints his visions through both abstract imagery and a poetic narrative reality. In this way the viewer is encouraged to experience feelings as visual imagery, sound as color and prayer as composition.
Living and painting in Redmond, Washington since 1994 he is committed to focusing on quality and expression. He is described as being in his “master works” time of life.
