Robert Powell graduated from the Royal College of Arts in London in the late seventies and began his professional design career as an automotive designer at Rover. This experience was shortly followed by a move to Germany where he joined Porsche and was able to shape his abilities by working on iconic car projects and racing car livery design for over 10 years.

In 1990 he made the move to the BMW group where he designed award winning concept cars and managed advanced design projects. He later became a Design Manager at the BMW production car studios where he was involved with the development of every production car that left the BMW 

In 2010 he sought out a new challenge by leaving BMW to create his own design and creative agency. Based to the South of Munich, Powell Design offers a wide range of creative services including: Automotive, Industrial and graphic design.

Next to this highly creative daily work he always found time to photograph, sketch and paint and recently began to develop a new style of art combining a wide range of classical drawing and digital methods.
