About Artist:
Russell Blackwell is an American welder/fabricator who has trained and been certified in a wide variety of types of welding, and he has worked internationally. Raised in South Carolina, where his father had a welding shop, he helped his family on their farm until he graduated from high school a few years later. While working out west in construction (1981-1999), I experienced an epiphany in 1997 on a mountain top in Wyoming. Russell decided to relegate his commercial welding to a supporting role as he aspired to become an artist. He returned home in 2000, where he opened a private welding shop with a small gallery.
