About Artist:
Hi my name is Adam Allison and I design custom wood burn mixed with wood stains pieces. I started doing this around 2009 by playing around in my brother's shop with burners and wood stains. Since then, and trial and error, I have developed my own process. All my pieces start out with either a sketch I have done or photograph depending on client and subject matter outlined on the wood. I customize the wood to give it a unique look, maily a rough edge/weathered look. From there I burn with a small pen like soldering tool and torches. After that I apply different wood stains then do highlights when they dry. Final completion is addding a coating to protect each piece.

About Artwork:
This piece was inspired by the movie "Last of the Mohicans" It represents the Cowboy and Indian culture and history. The piece was illustrated by me, Adam Allison, the artist. It is a mixture of wood burning/pyrography and different wood stains to achieve more texture. It's a long process, becasue most of the burning is done by a small pen like soldering utencil. I believe I have around 40 hours into this piece. I also customize the wood to give it a rough eroded look. It is protected by a few coats of polyurethane. The piece was done on one inch birch wood, so very sturdy and is in great condition.
