About Artist:
Alexander John Drysdale was an early 20th century artist. (1879-1934) He was born in Georgia, but moved to New Orleans, La. as a young man and studied art. He specialized in Louisiana landscapes using the special technique of oil wash which gave his works a characteristic hazy look. Today his art can be viewed at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and The Historic New Orleans Collection.
