About Artist:

As a visual artist, I am collecting the precious moments of an entire lifetime: not only the multiple challenges we all have to face in our everyday life, but also the fragile and delicate moments of happiness, trying to unveil a multi-faceted portrait of a generation struggling to build its own identity. My works are personal, politically engaged, brutal and poetical; they explore a journey and a path beyond beauty and pain, trauma and love.

My sense of freedom endeavors me to use a diverse array of (often mixed) media: painting, installation, sculpture, collages, sketchbooks and video. I use paper, canvas, cloth, tears, dolls, Louis Vuitton bags, clay, barbed wire, old 18thcentury missal, maps; whatever I find that can express a wide array of emotions. My works help me to share complex feelings and issues in a way that would be impossible with words. I enjoy creating because I feel like an explorer discovering new colors and textures, and I like not knowing what the final result will be.

I took part in more than 100 exhibits in Europe and the United States. My works are in private collections in Europe.

I was awarded a grant in 2016 from the Cambridge Arts Council for their Csart program, and have been awarded a grant in 2017 by the Massachussets Cultural Council and the City of Cambridge, through the Cambridge Arts Council, for my "art's room" project, an art & socially engaged project.

About Artwork:

This artwork is inspired by a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, The Lady with an Ermine. The story of Cecilia Gallerani inspired me. She was the mistress of Ludovico Sforza and was supposed to have been pregnant at the time the portrait was done. The Ermine was a symbol of purity, and noblesse, reserved usually for kings and dignitaries. One of today's symbols ofwealth are the Louis Vuitton bags. I represented a modern version of Cecilia, in a negligee clothe, lost in her thoughts.
