About Artist:

Antonio Aldea was born in 1992 in Hermannstadt (Romania). At the age of 9 years old his parents decided to move to Italy for work, and at the age of 20 they moved back due to the economic crisis of 2007. Antonio planned to frequent a design College in Turin after high school, but this opportunity vanished into thin air due to financial restrictions right in the period when he most needed.

A period of frustration and anger started into the artist life since then. Even if he successfully graduated the Economics Sciences in Hermannstadt, Antonio was feeling out of his way. In this period he realized that without the money wasn’t possible to reach the evolution.

After a long period of disappointment and frustration the artist, had a brilliant idea. To create a similar project to the “Paper License” for the final exam in University. This time composed by his passions and of what characterize him truly;

About Artwork:

Toro Y Moi is the first artwork of the artist to be completed and framed. The artwork is also the fulcrum of an ambitious project to keep alive and evolve artistic and design concepts.

The essence is given by the half bull, half human face. This concept embrace the bi-polarity of animal instinct and human rationality. The research of the beauty, the minimal detailing procedure, and the multiple techniques used made the artwork stunning and unique. Collage elements as the Tusk, the aluminum foil, the metal ring, the car wrap foil, and the leather pieces are the connection to rality.

Toro Y Moi is based on the emotions in that period. By selling this artwork I want to free my mind of economical restrictions and afford a design school. ”Ideas and culture are inevitably influenced by the economical processes” (K. Marx) “To be free is nothing, to became so is heavenly” (J. G. Fichte).
