About Artwork:
The Buddha Project 100 is a collaborative effort by Arthur Deak and Catherine Buchanan to produce one hundred works of art based on iconic sculptures of peace and serenity. Arthur and Catherine begin by photographing in gardens, museums and temples. They use the images to create designs for their contemporary paintings. While exploring a range of styles, mediums, and techniques they work together on each phase of the project from designing the images to painting on the same canvases. The learning curve while exploring new styles, circumventing ego and consensus are serious challenges, although every hurdle is seen as a valuable lesson, every triumph as a vote to continue.
