Barbie Borges
ArtistBrazil
About Artist:
Barbie Borges, born 1974 in Madrid, Spain, is a two time Olympic swimmer (1992 and 1996) and yogini whose paintings and drawings bring joy, light and auspiciousness to any environment.
By applying abstraction, Borges creates intense yet jubilant personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, color and light, luring the viewer into their own personal acknowledgment of what art means to them.
Her paintings do not reference recognisable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted and transcendent.
Barbie Borges currently lives and works in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
About Artwork:
Yoga, meditation and mindfulness inspire me to create art. Through my understanding of movement and the breath I free myself to bring beauty and happiness into the world.
