About Artist:
With a lifetime of painting in oil, pastel, and other media, I have been making my atwork available for over 25 years. As a virtually self-taught artist, I find that my art flourishes when I take the time to observe - to really see - not just with my eyes, but with all my senses. For me, art is the expression of observation, and through my paintings, I find a palette that answers beautifully to what I have seen, felt, and heard. My painting technique is ever evolving, whether in oil or soft patel. My impressionistic style may shift from hard to soft depending on the needs of the work. The more I paint the more aware I become of underlying colors, values and shapes. The simplest patterns of light and dark can sometimes seem so exciting and so vivid that I feel compelled to capture them. An inspiring moment such as this can be the start of an exciting adventure of expression.
I've been painting, drawing, observing all my life and excited to share that with you and to engage you in my renderings.

About Artwork:
I was raised in a large city and as a city-kid my sense of the outdoors was limited to the empty lots and other unused spaces in my neighborhood.? Whenever, the chance to travel to the 'country' was offered, I was all in.? I love nature. The sights, the smells of the different seasons, the chaotic beauty.? This river scene is a few miles from my home and I visit this place often. The manner in which the light places off the water and seemingly turns the leaves to stained glass always stops me in my tracks.
This piece is done completely with palette knife, in oil, on canvas panel.
