About Artist:
Charlotte was born in Cumbria, UK in 1971, in her teens she started sketching figures and still life. In her twenties she started painting first in watercolours but quickly moved on to painting in oils. Charlotte liked the detail that could be achieved by painting in oils but also liked the loose effect of painting in watercolours. Charlotte likes to think that in her latest works she has achieved the tight and loose effect in oil creating a modern style figurative painting. Charlotte's development as an artist has been slow due to her family commitment and Charlotte says her artistic abilities came from her mother who was an amateur artist and gave Charlotte much needed encouragement to paint.
