About Artist:
Charlotte Holden is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. Charlotte always works to capture the true essence of her subjects and allow the viewer to feel as if they are in the room with her viewing the subject. She focuses mainly on biological and anatomical artwork that gives an accurate representation of the subject before her. She wants the viewer to be able to experience the subject in the same level of detail she is able to while working.
About Artwork:
This artwork was inspired by the question 'what is the ideal form?.' This piece is meant to highlight the darker, more contorted side of attempting to fit into an ideal. How do we twist ourselves into an idea and conceal the aspects of us we do not want the outside to see. This figure contorts herself in an effort to protect her most vulnerable and most honest aspects of her form, allowing the exterior of her self to take the attention off of her vulnerabilities.
