CUONG NGUYEN
ArtistUnited Arab Emirates
About Artist:
Nguyen Hung Cuong has found the joy of transforming a piece of paper into anything his mind drives, only by folding. Cuong not only considers the anatomical proportions of the sub- jects but also seek for elegance. His work is a combination of extraordinary paper sculpture and fluid folding sequence.
Cuong has been invited to origami conventions around the world, and showcases his works in many galleries and museums from Tokyo to New York. He won 1st prize as a Best Solo Artist in World Art Dubai in 2017.
Cuong can fold any object in any size, large scale sculptures takes up to eight weeks to fold. It is easy to forget that these were all created simply (!) by folding a single piece of paper. This level of skill just has to be seen to be believed.
About Artwork:
I have started design Origami since I was six. Origami can be craft, science or art. What I love about origami is that I can make anything from one piece of paper just by folding it. Since I’m not good with words, I use origami to share my ideas, how I feel and how beautiful this world is.
My inspirations come from anywhere. I have folded origami models in many styles: simple to super-complex, abstract to detailed, realistic designs.
