  • THE LONE RANGER AND SILVER artwork by Dick Bobnick - art listed for sale on Artplode

About Artist:

Dick Bobnick is a multi award winning illustrator and portrait artist having been lead illustrator at four of Minneapolis' largest art and design studios.  In 1990 he went on his own as a free lance illustrator and opened his own studio.  He is renowned for his detailed and realistic style in rendering portraits and situation illustrations.  His interest and love of art began with drawing at age four.  He entered his first art competition at age 10 in a national kid's radio contest for breakfast cereal box design and, at the same age, followed that up with his first exhibit at the St. Paul public library.  Through high school and college he cartooned and art edited yearbooks and engineering monthlies.  Upon University of Minnesota graduation he was immediately hired for his first art studio job.  During his career he has been the reccipient of many art competition awards locally and nationally. Over his career has produced award winning art for national adveritising agencies, corporations and producers of books, magagzines and the collectabes industry.  He retired in 2010 but has continued producing exciting paintings for sale both as originals and  reproducitions as fine art prints and collectables.  He has retained many of his originals due to his contract requirements.  Some clients prefered a "buyout" which enabled them to retain the original painting. The Lone Ranger and Silver was just one of the many commissions Dick acquired with the famed Franklin Mint over a period of years.

About Artwork:

Dick has always had a large interest in Hollywood films, film history, sports and sports stars as well as American history.  He grew up listening to the Lone Ranger on radio as a kid and later as a major TV show and still later in films.  This portrayal is of actor Clayton Moore as the Texas ranger.  He was the star of the TV series and in three feature films.  The popularity of the Lone Ranger is still huge as responses to his painting over the years has proved.
