About Artist:

Durwood Smith was born on the St.Lawerence River and is Native American Mohawk Indian. He spent most his life in the Adirondack mountains and later in life the Florida swamps. He was well known in his younger years in Northern New York. Walked away for a time, and was reinspired after some family tragedies.His favorite Aunt's last words to him were God gave you a gift if you don't use it he'll take it away. When he was know in New York he painted First Night inspired for Celebration of New Year's Eve Veterans Walk Watertown, New York. The original hangs in the courthouse.
