About Artist:
Art - the blank canvas as an outlet for an idea.
Eric McCuaig was born in Canada and began painting in 2013 while living in Spain. His artistic vision is to take a simple idea – for example a forest path, an old colonial building, the memory of a tree, a field of flowers and so forth then communicate it with pure color and simple composition. Art is a beautiful visual language and McCuaig’s paintings capture scenes and moods in a universally accessible style.
About Artwork:
Perro Triste de Goya - 36 x 48 inches (2016)
Artist - Eric McCuaig
While living in Spain I went frequently to the Prado museum. My favorite paintings were Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights and Goya's The Dog.
This painting is somehow influenced by both, and imagines Goya's dog in a better place after the dark struggle depicted in Goya's painting, but oddly sad and lonely in spite of the improved circumstances.
