Evel Torres
Evel Torres was born in Colombia SA and came to New York at the age of six . He is a self-taught artist whose interest in art began at the early age of 10. Evel was inspired and intrigued by both Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch, which is clearly echoed in his work. He has diligently sharpened his technique through years of study and trial and error, and has established a unique collection of artwork.
People have frequently commented that he should show his artwork outside of NY because it is so strikingly unique. Evel has sold many of his pieces privately while simultaneously maintaining an extensive portfolio which reflects the progression of his skill and his artistic evolution.
Artist’s Statement:
I have experimented with different types of media starting with tempera paints, airbrush technique and oils. I am now primarily using oils and have developed techniques of glazes. My source of inspiration comes from my own life views. What I hope to achieve in art is a reflection of my thoughts and perceptions of and a channel to communicate and share them with the viewer.
