About Artist:

"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, 'Woman, here is your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Here is your mother.'  And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home."                                      John 19:26-27 (NRSV)

About Artwork:

Details including the hands and feet of John the Apostle are adapted from the Crucifixion diptych by Rogier van der Weyden (in Philadelphia).  The head of John the Apostle is adapted from the Deposition from the Cross, also by Rogier (in Madrid).  The eight architectural spandrels are adapted from his Miraflores Crucifixion (in Berlin).  The St. John's Wort hedge and the outer wooden frames are taken from modern photographs.

The pendants will ship together in a sturdy mailing tube, as two high-quality semi-gloss, digital inkjet prints.  Both sheets will be signed en verso - one with my name, one with my monogram.

Buyers are encouraged to choose their own formats for mounting and display.
