About Artwork:
When I was a young girl, 11 years old, my family moved to Arizona. My father and I loved the desert, however, my mother was convinced it was too hot.
Fast Forward to adulthood:
I left England (lived there for many years) in 1999 in part to be close to my aging father. I was pleased to be back in Arizona after all these years. I travel around the state making photos and use the images to create my paintings.
This is a series of three paintings "Sunrise / Sunset Arizona" The first image is "Sunrise Lake Mead" in Northern Arizona. The second image is "Sunset Painted Desert" what a glorious place. The third image is "Sunrise Bumblebee Arizona" a tiny town off the highway. Being a photographer I am transported by the early morning or late afternoon light when the sun is getting in its last licks, so to speak. I travel to these locations in order to arrive during this magical time.
