About Artwork:

Synopsis
The person in the chair has no specific identity. The chair is partially in a small room that symbolizes the reality of everyday life. It is very small, the world we live in, ordinary, compact.  A table, bottle of wine, everyday objects compared to a dream that has no boundaries and is profoundly changing within our mind. Limitless. As the daydream begins it soon morphs into a dream. The mind expands, the wall of the confining room is laid down, changing into an imaginary and  boundless world. His/Her inner thoughts are now represented by symbols. The head tips back as he drifts deeper into the subconscious, becoming relaxed. The wine glass floats away, becoming insignificant as the daydream is much more beautiful than even a favorite wine. The trains represents the huge power of the mind, yet is colorful, pleasant, fascinating, moving heading deeper into the unknown searching out new thoughts and symbols. The person has a body similar to a lighthouse, symbolizing light shining on the unknown, the mysterious. The two figures in front of him are authority figures, one being more obscure, seen also very colorfully, not an intimidating force. The turtle is a memory from his past. (That was my first painting when i was about 6 years old, my Mother set me up and is a fond memory). Mysterious mountains, somewhat awkward, yet interesting perhaps representing a distortion a dream sometimes illustrates. The mouse as part of the dream,is unimpressed. Just sitting,  looking, wondering what the big deal is.. This could represent a person who has no interest in the imagery or the story a dream is trying to tell, small-mindedness perhaps. I strive to make people think deeply with my work, get inside their head a little bit, stimulate the imagination. I believe imagination and color are my strong suits.
