About Artwork:
The painting named "17h na Praia Grande" had as a reference the artist Howard Hodgkin, with his paiting called "Venice Grey Water| where he pictures through gestures and color fluidity, in a subtly and abstractly, without even reproducing the landscape, bring his memory to life.
I've found the experimentation of painting a memory without reproducing the prefectly the place very interesting.
Then I've chosen a very special memory to create my own painting. A childhood memory, when I used to spend my summers at my grandparents beach house Praia Grande beach in São Paulo/Brazil, everyday at 5pm, close to sunset, myself and my sister, together with my grandfather walked barefoot to the beach. the goal was to take a sea bath, going radically to the "deep sea" where our foot could not touch the sand. For us this was extremely radical and we looking forward for this moment everyday. My Grandfather liked to go to the beach at 5pm because he did not like the crowd and liked the sunset. The memory frame I chose to paint was the moment before crossing the beach street, where I could see the street, the bike lane, the sand and the ocean.
"It's not a landscape painting, instead a memory landscape" (FABBRINI, Ricardo).
