About Artist:
Ira Reines was born in New York, NY in 1957 and is best known as the protege of artist Erte ( Romain de Tirtoff), who was considered by many to be the father of Art Deco. In 1980, Erte collaborated with Ira Reines to translate his two dimensional drawings and paintings into sculpture. The collaboration resulted in 70 bronze sculptures that were exhibited and collected worldwide. Ira Reines work can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum in NY, The Smithsonian in Washington, DC , Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art in China and many other museums and private collections throughout the US and abroad.
