About Artist:

Jeanne Coorlim Vella is an independent artist living outside of Chicago.  She received a BA in painting from University of IL 1985, winning talent scholarship and faculty award of excellence.   She has exhibited in various group showings 1985-2014, while working full time in technology sales/marketing to support her family.    "I paint what I feel and I enjoy experimenting with acrylics and found objects in my work.  Most often the subject of my paintings have been derived from experiences in the outdoors.  I attempt to capture the light & emotion, and then amp up the feeling with color."

About Artwork:

It was a dark and stormy day along the Lake Michigan lakefront. Sunlight broke through stormclouds as birds scattered.  An indelible image that matched my mood that day-  How could I not paint it?
