About Artist:

Jefto (sometimes recorded as Jefta) Peric (1895-1967), painter and professor of the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, is a significant representative of Coloristic realism in Serbian and Yugoslavian art. His art education was obtained in Zagreb, Munich, and Paris.
In the French capital he spent 12 years, in which he shaped the painting expression and perfected himself as a copyist and restorator. In Paris, he met Beljanski (1892-1965). Their friendship lasted until the death of the collectors, and it was especially intense since 1935, when Peric moved to Belgrade and received authorization from Beljanski to choose and buy paintings of Yugoslavian artists for his collection.
