About Artist:
Joshua Jensen-Nagle was born and raised in New Jersey.
In 1999 he came to Canada to attended Ryerson University and began to develop his distinct photographic style. Since then he has become an established artist who has exhibited internationally in museums and galleries.
His works are photographs but not in the typical documentary style that we associate photography with. Jensen-Nagles work is more reminiscent of painting than photography.
The artist explains: One thing I try to achieve is a painterly aspect in my work, its how I understand photography
Jensen-Nagles techniques, used to achieve his unique style, include the use of expired Polaroid film, which he says gives an extraordinary colour palette and softens the image. He also paints directly on his photographs and then re-shoots them to create an image that pushes the boundaries between the mediums.

"Endless Summer" is an ongoing body of work which conveys the nostalgic thoughts and feelings of my childhood spent along the New Jersey shore. The series of beaches is inspired by memories of never-ending days floating in the water, jumping waves, surfing with my dad and basking in the sun. It was a simpler time, and one of the only times in my life that I can remember feeling nothing more than pure happiness.
Joshua Jensen-Nagle
Jensen-Nagles timeless, impressionistic imagery is complemented by the artist's signature presentation style; works are plexiglass face-mounted to a 2-inch deep aluminum subframe for a clean, contemporary finish.
