Laura Warburton
ArtistCanada
About Artist:
Warburton’s compositions are brushed, sprayed, carved, splattered, scraped or poured, the use of texture, and abstraction provides a beautiful organic feel.
Her paintings are aptly termed” Loft Artwork”, as they are large in size: over four feet. They provide a contemporary feel, whether it be raw loft design, modern or warm traditional spaces.
Works are hanging in corporate and private collections throughout Canada, USA, UK, Europe and Australia. The 3rd season of HBO’s series HUNG also featured some of her work.
Warburton’s insistence of refusing to stay within the hierarchical territories of traditional realism, biomorphic abstraction or natural representation is founded on one simple strategy: “I paint what I feel”. A remarkable quest and an even more remarkable achievement: her works evoke a feeling rather than represent one, they manage to function as undifferentiated state of harmony. They are also strikingly beautiful.

About Artwork:
Did I lock the back door….
Oh my low back, I should get a new work chair,
Maybe I have cancer, do people who get cancer think that just before they get cancer,
Those shoes were a good deal. I am going to go back and see if they have my size
No I shouldn’t spend the money on them
I should get up and pee
Oh … I have to pay my visa, is it overdue?
How is it some people know when their credits cards are due without getting reminded?
My sister annoys me,
This snoring, that is why I can’t sleep
If he does not stop breathing I am going to kill him.
Wonder if I snore, how would I know people lie and say I do but really I don’t
I knew she would leave him, it took her long enough, if I see him I am not even going to acknowledge him.
F&%#$.. I forgot cat food again, why can’t I just give her the stuff I eat, what’s it going to do .. kill her ?
I should really get up and pee…hold off till morning
Umm maybe I will go have a smoke , I quit 3 years ago, what is with the cravings still? Flannel sheets I should get some, maybe they are too hot though
Is it a weeknight?
Did I lock the back sliding door?
I hate going to the dentist…is that next week ?
Will check calender tomorrow
I really should pee, then check door …
Why can’t I just SLEEP…
My mind …
Rollover yes yes yes ….that will help.
Never eat so late, that’s the problem , eating is the problem
What am I going to make for dinner tomorrow, what day is it again
Oh I missed the parent teacher meeting.
New pillows, I am buying new pillows…..
