About Artwork:
After seeing an original photograph of the events that happened in the Basque town of Gernika in Northern Spain at the onset of WWII, I was touched and inspired to create my won version of the bombings. Being of basque origins myself, I wanted to portray the feeling of being there in person, as a small child, as the bombs came down all around me. I left my soul in this painting. I had nothing left when I was done. It was proudly displayed at the entrance of the Beijing International Art Fair in 2013.
