About Artist:

Artist Statement:
Whether deep mysterious jungles or whimsical florals, I enjoy the exploration of color harmonies and the weaving of shapes within the botanical world. I like to surprise myself with new color and foliage patterns, informed in my journeys to tropical environments. I put all this together as I compose my paintings trying to imbue them with the fullness of joy and harmony to enhance space. Years of working with the woodcut print has informed a more primitive style. This along with exaggerating form allows my more whimsical nature to convey itself in my work. The botanical world which has captivated me for 15 years was initially inspired by the French artists; Henry Rousseau and Paul Gauguin. I have painted and printed for 40 years. I now dedicate myself to continuing the weaving of color and form with “Tropical Fantasy Floral “

About Artwork:

Abundance, joy and diversity of all things living together as colorful leaves and flowers mingle in this vase. My cubistic leanings and Matisse sensibility are evident here as these casual and exaggerated flowers sway and overlap supporting and enhancing each other
