About Artist:
My name is Marina and I am originally from Crimea, we moved to the US when I was almost 2 and have been here ever since.
I started learning art and how to draw and paint when I was 8 at a local art school. I had more training in high school where I took two consecutive years if AP art classes and in my senior year won 2nd place at an art competition.
About Artwork:
Gears of Earth is one of my very few mixed media pieces- (colored pencil and ink). It is also one of my very few drawings as I usually focus on painting with acrylics.
Gears of Earth came to be after the idea that nature is being more incorporated with new technology and constant modifications. The woman in the middle would be Mother Earth, her gears turning to give life to new creations.
