NJM
ArtistFrance
About Artist:
NJM is a discrete French artist, roaming the endless beaches of Aquitaine, Southwestern France, to find the perfect pieces of driftwood required for his artwork. Mostly working on requests, it is extremely rare to see any of his creations on the market.
About Artwork:
Split is a unique artwork entirely hand-made.
During the harsh tempests of autumn, an enormous tree was rejected by the Atlantic Ocean in Southwestern France, at Cap Ferret, near the famous city of wine, Bordeaux.
After weeks of hardwork, a large slice was finally taken back to NJM's workshop.
Waiting two years to be shaped, the wood, washed by the sea, the salt, the sand and the wind, required another year and a half to finally become Split, confluence between driftwood and resin.
The legs comes from the same stump as the wood, the resin is of the highest quality, and permanent pigments, unfazed by time, were used to represent the movements of the seas.
The artist decided to keep the originalities of the materials used in the process, making it an absolute unique piece, perfect for stylish environments, absolutely enhancing any place given to it.
