About Artist:

Interview Pascal Piveteau

1 Since when you create and what was the trigger?

It is always difficult to talk about oneself, one's privacy. An artistic approach is primarily a process that is part of its "self" deep intimacy unveiled by his artistic expression.

In truth, I spent half my potential life to remain in my thoughts, often translated into actions and personal research on the meaning of events that could cross my life and piled up an event will change the direction of my personal artistic creation and immerse myself in an implementation. Indeed, it all starts with my birth 50 years ago, in a classic family whose mother is French, the middle of a modest  origin but passionate about drawing, music, sewing, cooking in the issue creation. My father when he is at home in Puglia, southern Italy by her mother and Moroccan Jewish origin by his father who died during the war in exile after a history stained unsaid. After a change of surname, my father will suffer a lot of anti-Semitism after the war in France. This family history, I will discover at the age of 35 years. All my hobbies were guided unknowingly to this origin that will mark my private choice and my creation today. From the end of my studies disturbed by my character quite unconventional, I'll point me in three ways, one is a family with the birth of three children, the other will work with my social achievement, the latest research on why the path I will go through with as a guideline, human and contemporary architecture. The last search for truth and understanding of the world around me will make me into a totally unknown world for me. Nobody will encourage me in this way, it will come to me like a destiny. I will then travel to understand, in France, Scotland, Morocco, and visit often casually places with a very strong emotion every time and that will lead to a kind of personal mysticism. I feel that The path should take me maybe one day in Jerusalem. I will follow this invisible guide that suggests to me in my sleep, my thoughts direction I should take and I'll follow ... to give birth to my creation. A major fact will change the course of my history, this end December 2014.

From this december day nothing seems extraordinary, morale is not high, it's not nice time in Paris and a little cold. Towards 17h I go on "Grand boulevards" in front of the "Galeries Lafayette" in an appointment made days rather with fashion photographer.

Rather banal situation in my fashion designer working. What follows may seem simple but for me will give birth to a dimension while asleep at home. before a hot tea, she'll show me on his computer, pictures of work and then I do not know why I say this, but I'll ask her if she does something she could introduce me. that's when I discovered a world very far from what I could imagine, a soft and smiling personality and artistic universe staff total opposition with paintings, drawings showing one side of herself, her traumas, frustrations , sorrows, joys but also all very intense. It is a revelation to me, she dares to express his inner self without fear, that I was never allowed me. We end this interview and we leave for more than one month the time for me to leave France for Asia and follow the birth of my children 4 th. On my return, everything becomes clearer, the woman I'm going to see more often will guide me and help me to cross the trusts caps to express my feelings. It will become my "muse" and since I no longer creates a detached way but with all my soul in each of my painting and under his watchful eye, critical, objective and expert luck with a Master in Art Deco Paris, a family passionate about the arts and a dad, and international famous baritone opera.

2 Who are the artists you like and what you stand artistic family?

There are many artists whose creations fascinate me, makes me speechless, with a perceptible emotion.

To the best known, there Rothko with his world and the expression of Jewish trauma and incomprehension at obscurantism. I love Picasso and his unconventionality, his artistic authority. Gerhard Richter I love the expression of his sublime works, H. R. Giger his incredibly vivid and strange creations, Richard Serra and linear metal sculpture that give the material its best. There are also many other artists little known French or foreigners for whom I have great respect for the wonderful creations they produce and that delight me to watch and the list goes on. Regarding artistic family, I feel as contemporary, with an intuitive and divine abstract expression, internalized between chaos and order continuously.

3 Do you have a workshop and how you work

Photo, outdoors, based on an idea, a feeling, an emotion?

I work in my studio in Paris in the 19 th, also at Villie Morgon in the Rhône department, an old house with lots of space to create.

Before each painting, I am in an introspective phase and in communication with my blank canvas around which I realize a ritual that combines my senses and energy materials.

I need to know why my creation and I can take a while to lay the color on this white canvas that will sacrifice its purity and give life forever.

I project in a chaos of idea repeatedly and through this situation I paint from the start, I combine different techniques, materials, colors, to establish an order seen in a divination angle.

The "Eye" is part of each of my creations and it symbolizes a form of deity or force that can be called as desired. For me this force is very significant, it restored order out of chaos. Life is a succession of chaos (in real life) which we try to put a stable order but whose very nature is insecurity that must be understood and accepted

4 How does your technique and how has it

evolved?

Each painting, a technique and choice of different tools, the most unlikely, the most common, I chose my tools and my technique at the last moment after a long and intense introspection. The act of painting or creating will then very quickly without recovery. I hate touch-ups, small adjustments, it distorts my expression.

5 Tell us about your artist's life, the difficulties and joys that you have encountered.

The artist's life is probably the most beautiful life that is when we can give substance to its creation independent of any hardware constraints. Unfortunately this is not my case and I work in simplicity, with few resources and devotes much of my resources to my creations.

I do not expect much, apart from the inexplicable joy that gives me my paintings when I look like a child we love unconditionally.

My paintings bring me an incredible psychological support. They comfort me and bring me an incomparable inner strength.

6 what expectations you bring to others through your art?

This is the great part of my life today, to share with others my emotions and give my expression by a vector of his own understanding. This is the best answer of why my creation. I like the idea that in human imperfection there is a form of supernatural order which we try to discover the code.

7 Where expose you and what are your plans?

I should display in a gallery in Paris in the 8th in February 2016 for 4 months.

8 What is your view of art today and in general, what do you think the role of art in society?

10 What would be the greatest happiness that could happen to you as an artist?
