About Artist:
started my life as a visual artist in New Zealand and explored painting and printmaking finally specializing in the later. Lithography and silkscreen printing have their own unique and magical properties. Those properties I weave in to each piece through the digital medium.
After coming to Canada I became very interested in Graphic Design so went to study at what was then Ontario College of art (now OCADU). I emerged with a diploma in communication design and there began my working career. Now after many years as a designer, Art Director and Creative Director I find the culmination of my visual arts experience has come together in a unique way. With the use of both digital, photographic and illustrative technique I create explorations in colour; tone and design elements Emotions change, push and pull and that is the basis of my work.
Some things in art come about in an unplanned way and that is usually the start of a piece for me. A small thing that caught my eye like an object or a portion of a photograph - a colour or texture that can ground a big piece of art.
About Artwork:
I will likely end as I started. Art and design have always affected me. The contrasts and juxtapositions of texture, shapes and colours evoke so many things depending on how you use them,
I come from a country where fine art is for everyone and everyone embraces it because it represents a culture of things. It is not about elitism, it is about sharing something emotional – joyful or heavy – it doesn’t matter.
