About Artist:
Artist Svitlana Yakim has two minor degrees in fine arts, as well as art history. Svitlana is from Ukraine originally, but has pursued fine arts and business as a passion in the US.
About Artwork:
This art piece was inspired by this street in particular in Delaware, Ohio at Ohio Wesleyan University. This image combines the beauty of landscape in the back with trees and an old universitiy hall building that is similar to a castle. In the foreground is a run-down street from the Delaware city that hides the unpopular part of the city. The combination of the two shows them blended together in unison, yet separated in a way at the same time. In today's world of perfection around every media corner, it is refreshing to see an authentic version of what we see as human beings as opposed to the media featured reality.
