La Verdi One Liner Collection
ArtistUSA
About Artist:
Thomas Charles La Verdi hailed as an art prodigy at the age of 12, ran away from his abusive home to find refuge in the mountains of Santa Monica.
On his own until the age of 15 he was adopted and encouraged to pursue his art. He chose instead to pursue his other passion...Music. He was soon discovered by Disco Icon Donna Summer and was signed to legendary Polygram Records at the age of 17. It wasn't until years later after a successful carrer in Europe as a vocalist and songwriter did he begin to think of entering the art world again.
The Artist explains his work: "The illusion of negative space is created without allowing the line to cross and the viewer completes what is, or isn't there. Every piece is the power of suggestion by using habitual image recognition with the use of one flowing line. It is a design of a lion, not a illustration of a lion. Once the viewer makes up their mind what it is they are actually seeing, natural human curiosity takes over and they begin to solve the mystery of where the line begins and where it ends."
About Artwork:
There can be only one. Each piece is one fluid movement of a single line that never crosses over upon itself.
Follow the line from the beginning of it's journey as it twists and turns to it's inevitable end. In between the line a unique image is revealed.
Every piece is free hand and never pre-outlined, traced or sketched. Spontaneous expression without the luxury of correction. This is Art in it's purest form.
