This striking 19" x 26" original nude drawing is more than just a piece of fine art—it is a capsule of a personal, serendipitous encounter between two creators.
The piece was born from a unique connection at Chicago’s famous Randolph Street Market, where the owner was set up selling vintage clothes directly adjacent to Francine Turk, who was exhibiting and selling her artwork. After spending time side-by-side sharing stories and winding through deep conversation over the course of the market, the owner opened up about her raw, personal journey and battles with addiction. Moved by the shared vulnerability, Turk captured this elegant human form as a direct gift to her neighboring vendor.
Infused with profound empathy and mutual respect between fellow market sellers, the artist hand-inscribed the piece with a powerful message of encouragement: "Nikki Stay Strong."
Beautifully framed and expertly matted, the artwork seamlessly blends Turk’s signature expressive, soul-baring linework with an intimate, real-world history. It stands as a profound testament to resilience, human connection, and the vibrant spirit of the Chicago art and vintage community.
