About Artist:

Paul Mikula forges sculptures that challenge him as an artist while ensuring they hold lasting value, possess real gravitas, enhance their surroundings, and powerfully link the past with the present. There is something magical and deeply fascinating about his process of transforming inherently hard iron into a plastic state using century-old tools and techniques passed down from master to apprentice, then shaping them into his own original designs. Each piece is forged from antique ox wagon parts originally made in England about 150 years ago the same durable wrought iron that powered South Africa's legendary heavy transport wagons. This material is perfect not only for its near-pure wrought iron quality but for the rich history and context it carries into every finished sculpture. His forge runs exclusively on solar power, and he strives to live and work as sustainably as possible, honoring both tradition and the environment in every creation.
