My passion for John Lennon was started by the images of the Beatles album jacket. The first meeting with John Lennon was when I was around 14-years-old. I was looking around the room and found LPs which were stocked in the corner. There was the Beatles Album and I was fascinated by John Lennon’s face - Long hair, dreamy eyes over the round glasses, sharp ridge of the nose, thin and firm mouth and so on. I kept my eyes on him for a long time, captivated by the expression of his eyes and face. After this unforgettable first moment with John Lennon, from teenage boy to until now, John Lennon was the reflection of my life and became an attic whenever I needed comfort or some place to hide from the world. I would like to draw my feeling of his gaze and I started drawing and painting with that motive. It eventually allowed me to have a solo exhibition with John Lennon’s portrait. John Lennon makes my heart beat and he is still attractive motive to me.”
